As a research patient - free clinical drug trials

Clinical drug trials aim to find better cancer treatments. Docrates Cancer Center provides an opportunity for cancer researchers, research institutions and pharmaceutical companies to perform clinical studies as part of the normal activities of the hospital. Studies are always performed under the close supervision of the relevant authorities.

Appointments with Docrates Cancer Center specialists are available without referral, which means that cancer patients from all parts of Finland have the opportunity to participate in clinical studies at Docrates. Such studies can allow participants to benefit from the newest treatments for several years before they become available at a pharmacy.

Docrates Cancer Center works actively to allow all cancer patients seeking new treatments to participate in clinical studies and receive investigational treatments if no curative treatment is available for their condition.

Search for Clinical Trials

An oncologist at Docrates Cancer Center can, at your request, search public databases for clinical trials in any geographical area that could be suitable for you. This may be an alternative if there is no established treatment available for your cancer or condition, or if they have already been used, or if the doctor knows of a promising investigational medicinal product that is not yet available outside clinical trials.
